My experience as a mentor in Microsoft Imagine Cup

Over the last two months, I had the pleasure of mentoring a team that participates in the Imagine Cup India Regional Round, the Microsoft technology global competition for students. Being a mentor at Imagine Cup, interacting with ambitious students, and helping them bring their ideas to life is a unique and rewarding experience. I would like to thank the Microsoft Student Ambassadors program team for offering this unique opportunity to Gold Ambassadors.

As a mentor, I provided technical guidance and presentation support to the team. I showed them possible ways to incorporate Azure AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things) services into their project and shared with them learning resources from Microsoft Learn to start developing their prototype. I also provided feedback on their pitch presentation and shared with them some tips on how to prepare a great presentation.

The team did an amazing job and managed to build their first prototype in less than 2 weeks without having used Azure cloud services before! They are 1 of the 20 teams that have qualified for the 2nd round of the India regional finals and are preparing for the next phase of the competition!
